Navigating the Disney Careers Dashboard

The Disney dashboard can be all sorts of confusing! I'm no expert on the dashboard, but I did use the dashboard when I applied and hope my experience can help future applicants as they navigate through the hiring process.

Here's a screenshot of the dashboard. Applicants will have access to this dashboard once you apply to a job listing on the disney careers website.

Jobs you applied for will show up in the "Application Status and Communications" box.

Interview events are listed in the box to the right.  When I applied, the recruiter emailed me with all the interview details and this box always remained empty. Don't worry if this box is never updated.

Most of the action on the dashboard takes place through the status bar.

There are 8 active stages of the status bar which are explained below. There is also the "no longer in consideration" status which means that the application is no longer being reviewed. The good thing is that you can always apply to more jobs. I received about 4 NLIC statuses before I got my job so I'd recommend being persistent and to keep on trying.

1. Submission

After an application has been submitted to the job listing, this status will appear. Additionally, an email will be sent to you with the subject, "Thank you for Applying." My email looked like this:

2. In Progress

In Progress means that the recruiters are reviewing your application and they are interested. My application status was at the In Progress stage for several months before a recruiter contacted me.

3. Preliminary Interview Schedule

I am not sure what this stage means because my dashboard never showed this status.

4. Interview Stage

This must be the stage where you get an invite for an interview. Again, my status never went to this stage. All throughout my interviews, my status read "In Progress." I'm guessing that the recruiter just didn't have time to update it. No worries if your status remains as "in progress" throughout the interview stage.

5. Post-Interview Stage

I assume this is the stage when they are making a decision after the interview. My status never went to this stage either. It still read "in progress" at this point.

6. Offer Stage
This is the stage where you're extended an offer and asked to complete a background check.

7. Post Offer Stage
At this stage, you complete the onboarding process which includes signing company policies and filling out employment information.

8. Recruitment Process Complete

Whew, you survived the application process! Finally, you're an official cast member!

If you want even more info about the application process, I wrote this post about how to get a job at disney that might be helpful.

As always, ask away with any questions and I'll be happy to answer.

  1. Hi! I have a problem (if I can call it this way) with my dashboard: after I have applied, I checked my dashboard and it is always loading and never stop (you can see it here: http://postimg.org/image/5vsrz3sof/ ).
Does it mean something or I have just to wait?
    Thank you in advance!

    1. Hello! I have never encountered that before and am not sure what it means. It may be an IT problem. If it continues, I would create a new account and apply again.

      Best wishes in applying!

  2. I have a question, I am currently in the stage of in progress. I have submitted my disney application, but I have edited my CV and cover letter few days after my submission.
    1) Would they notice and consider my latest version of CV and cover letter?
    2) I have edited and re-uploaded a few times, does this matter?

    Thank youuu !!!!

    1. Hi Kathy,

When your application is reviewed, I believe that they would look at the latest version of the CV and cover letter. Editing and re-uploading shouldn't make a difference as they will look at the latest version.

      Best wishes!

  3. Hi there. I applied for Disney, made it all the way to the point where I submitted my program fees, submitted my paperwork for their company policies, and as of right now, my dash-board shows that I am in the Post-Offer Stage after completing these forms. I'm trying to look into if there is anything I need to do at this point, or if I need to wait for them to clear my information. Also, I'm trying to find out when course registration specifically opens for each semester.

    Thank you!

    1. To add to my question. It shows I scheduled my program date, as I am to begin May 23rd, and my fees for housing and program assessment is submitted. Just trying to find out if I'm missing anything :D

    2. The recruiter should let you know all the paperwork/forms that need to be completed. Once you've completed those items, I believe you will just need to wait. If you have specific questions, I would try reaching out to your recruiter.

    1. Hello, sometimes it takes a while for them to go through the applications, so I would wait it out. In the meantime, you can keep searching the job board and apply to other openings.

  5. I applied the end of February and it still says in submission. I guess they already filled the position? I would just like to know one way or another.

    1. Hi Allison,

The position isn't officially filled until the listing is removed from the website. It could take a couple months for them to get back to you, but since it has been a while I would keep applying to other jobs as well.

    1. Congrats of being selected! It can take a while to receive an offer letter, weeks or even months. If you don't want to wait it out and they have already offered you a position verbally, you can request an offer letter.

  7. Hi there! I'm currently in the post offer stage and I've filled out the additional paper work.
But it's been a few days and I haven't heard or seen an email as to if I'm officially a member yet. How long did you have to wait? Should I still be applying to other jobs?

    2. Hi Crystal,

Congrats on your job! If you've already recieved an offer, accepted, and filled out the paperwork, no need to apply for other jobs. The recruiter should be following up with you shortly regarding a start date. If you don't hear back soon, you can certainly reach out to your recruiter to make sure they received everything. Hope this helps!

  8. The job listing I applied for is no longer on the website, however, my dashboard says it is still open. It is a project hire position, I'm not sure of they handle those differently? Any experience with these types of listings?

    1. Hi Kaisha,

I don't have specific experience with project hire jobs. However, normally when the job listing is removed from the website, the job has been filled or it is on hold.

  10. Ive applied for one job, but when I tried to apply for another job it says sorry we only accept 1 application at a time, does that mean I have to wait 6 months to apply for another job?

    1. Hi there. I have never encountered that message before when applying. There may be an application limit for certain types of jobs. In this case, you can wait and try to apply again later. Six months sounds like a long time so maybe you can try again in a couple weeks.

  11. What does it mean when you got your blue tradition pamplet and your scheduled for orientation and the progress bar says closed or not in consideration

    1. Hello, I am not familiar with the blue tradition phamphet. However, if you're scheduled for orientation, that's a good sign and you can probably ignore the progess bar status. Sometimes the status bar is not up to date.

  13. Hi, I had an application submitted on the 24th of February but I just attached a cover letter and resume today and I just logged back in and it says that there are no job submissions I was just wondering what that meant if I was no longer considered or anything you may know.
    Thank you for your time.

  14. Hi under Job Status it says "closed" and under HR Status it says "submission"...what does this mean?

    1. Hi there! It sounds like your application/submission has been received by HR, but the job has been filled or they decided not to hire anymore.

  15. Hi, I have kind of an odd question. I applied for a PI when apps opened in December and have been in progress since. My question is that I never had communication with a recruiter, only direct communication from management within the department. I have had two phone interviews with management but was wondering how I find out who my recruiter is to determine an update.

  16. You can try reaching out to the hiring manager for an update, or ask them if there is a recruiter you could direct hiring questions to. Hope this helps!

  17. An application that I made indicates "in progress" on the dashboard. However, the posting is no longer included in the job listings. What does this imply?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hi! So I just recently applied to be a Disney Vacation Club Operations Assistant on 9/18/17 and it was definitely listed on the Disney career site since 9/12/17, so luckily I was able to get an application in before they removed it. It was removed after two days of me applying. They sent an email the same day of me applying and thanked me for my interest and that they will be reviewing my background and experience and they'll reach out to whoever has the most experience that aligns with their qualifications, now I notice that in some of your posts, you said if they removed their listing that it has already been filled? Maybe I'm just being hopeful but isn't it too soon for this position to be filled already? Or do you think they took out the listing because too many people applied for it already? What do you think? I just checked my Dashboard and it said they are currently reviewing my application. I'm praying so hard that I get this job!

    1. Hi Lila: That does seem like a short time to fill the position. But if the listing is removed, most likely the role is filled, perhaps by an internal candidate. Although it is hard to tell for sure, I would try applying for other roles since this one is no longer listed.

    2. Thanks for replying :) so I actually did a little "research" and there was a new update in the hiring process, so apparently there is no big advantage for current Disney employees when submitting for a new open position. They're in the same screening pile as all us external candidates. But being a current Disney employee might have its advantages later if they score an interview, as it is always easier to transfer an existing employee than hire a new one. They recently changed this! So..I might have a chance!! Wish me luck!! :D
